Notes on setting type
Readers form a judgment of a page before they read it.
Good typesetting goes unnoticed. It holds the eye on the line. Poor typesetting is noticed at once.
Hover over text on any page to read its computed font. Click to pin the element and examine it in the side panel.
Add to ChromeA label follows the cursor and names the font family and size. Clicking pins the element for closer study.
The panel reports size, weight, line height, color and contrast ratio for the pinned element.
A font stack lists candidates, not the font in use. Check asks Chrome which fonts rendered the text. Each result carries a glyph count.
This tab lists every font in use on the page. Hovering a row highlights the text set in that font.
